Group Music Therapy
Senior Population: Group Music Therapy Sessions
I specialize in providing group music therapy for senior facilities (Independent, Assisted, Skilled and Memory Care units) in the Colorado Springs area and beyond. Sessions focus on:
Life Review and Reminiscence
Sessions are one hour and are not limited in size. Residents will enjoy singing, movement, instrument play and life review. Sessions take place monthly and are tailored specifically for each population and facility.
“Sandy Golias is no stranger here at the Brookdale community. She is a familiar face to our team, including our residents. Her home-style music engages all of us with singing, laughter and dance. The moment she walks through the door her kind, fun personality lightens our day.
At the close, we all feel refreshed and new, and look forward to the next event. The benefits of her music brings us to the moment as we are strengthened through engagement.
“Sandy Golias is wonderful. She is talented and the interaction with the residents is what I love the most as a Life Enrichment Director. She plays songs from the past, and when she interacts with residents, it allows them to remember for a moment.
They get to relive those special times, all thanks to you.
Every visit the residents here at the Retreat will tell us stories based on the music that Sandy shares.
"There are other music therapists and then there is Sandy. She demonstrates compassion, which cannot be taught in a classroom. She brings talent, which goes far beyond what can be learned in a degree program. She works with understanding, which is so much more than credentials.
If you want to experience music that IS therapy, call Sandy."
